The EBZ230 boom-type roadheader is a versatile primary tunneling machine engineered for medium-hard rock mines worldwide and supports regular excavation of roadways with diverse cross-section sizes. Equipped with a 230 kW high-power cutting motor, it cuts rock with uniaxial compressive strength up to 90 MPa and balances tunneling efficiency and operational cost under typical 65 MPa rock conditions. The compact balanced body delivers a cutting height range of 2.6–4.46 m, cutting width range of 3.6–5.67 m and maximum one-pass cutting area of 25 ㎡. The modular split structure limits the heaviest single non-detachable component to 7.1 tons for convenient cross-border shipping and segmented underground delivery. Dual-mode oil pump motors adjust power output for different site scenarios, making it ideal for long-distance roadway tunneling in coal mines and metallic mines as a reliable, easy-to-maintain hard-rock tunneling solution.

Stable high-power rock breaking for diverse strata
The 230 kW high-torque cutting motor runs steadily at 37 r/min with abundant power reserve to avoid stalling against interbedded hard rock and weathered surrounding rock. It maintains fast tunneling speed for ordinary 65 MPa strata and handles local 90 MPa hard-rock breakthrough tasks reliably even when rock hardness fluctuates across the mining site.
Broad cross-section coverage with neat roadway shaping
Working within 2.6–4.46 m cutting height and 3.6–5.67 m cutting width, it forms roadway sections from 9.4 ㎡ to 25 ㎡ to match standard haulage and return air roadways. Precise cutting-head movement delivers smooth roadway sidewalls and reduces secondary manual trimming work.
Well-balanced chassis for reliable underground mobility
The 72-ton machine distributes weight evenly via 2.59 m tracks to keep ground pressure at 0.17 MPa for strong anti-slip and anti-sinking performance on muddy and loose ground. ±18° gradeability plus 250 mm cutting-head sumping depth and 270 mm shovel-plate sumping depth continuously clears floor gangue. The 3.2 m wide shovel plate collects muck over a large area to match high-power cutting output and cut blockage-caused downtime.
Dual-range oil pump for flexible power regulation and energy saving
Operators switch between 110 kW and 132 kW oil pump modes: the 132 kW mode supplies full power for heavy-duty tunneling, while the 110 kW mode cuts energy consumption in routine conditions to boost long-term operational economy.
Split transportation for easy deployment in global mining sites
Separable modules including main frame, front conveyor and rear support frame are shipped separately with manageable single-component weight to pass narrow underground haulage ways. Compatible with internationally mainstream mine power supply AC1140V-50Hz, it runs stably during long continuous shifts with low failure rates and widely available spare parts to simplify on-site overseas maintenance
